Romanian fintech company Instant Factoring secures a €30 million financing round

Instant Factoring, a Romanian fintech company and leader in digital financing solutions for SMEs, announces its participation in a cross-border securitization transaction worth up to 30 million euros, a strategic move that marks a new phase of development for the Romanian fintech sector and the alternative financing market in both Romania and Spain.

The transaction involved the establishment of a securitization fund for Instant Factoring’s receivables portfolios — “Instant Factoring 2025-I, Securitization Fund” in Spain, under the supervision of the CNMV, the Spanish financial markets regulator, with a Luxembourg-based fund acting as senior lender. The fund, operational as of October 8, 2025, has an initial financing of 7 million EUR—5 million EUR allocated to Romania and 2 million EUR to Spain—and is set to be gradually expanded to 30 million EUR under the same program. The initiative is presented as a first for the local market, marking the participation of the first Romanian non-bank financial institution in an international securitization structure.

“The recently concluded partnership with the Luxembourg-based investment fund positions Instant Factoring—and, by extension, Romania—among the major players in alternative financing. This securitization transaction is not only a first for the Romanian non-bank fintech sector but also proof that local innovation can generate trust and support on a global scale. The financing raised will support the consolidation and expansion of our operations in Romania and Spain, thereby accelerating the growth of thousands of SMEs that will benefit from the working capital so desperately needed to sustain a constantly evolving economy,” says Cristian Ionescu, CEO and co-founder of Instant Factoring.

Global Capital for Local Growth—A New Digital Financing Fund for SMEs

The new financing structure enables the company to provide over 200 million euros in additional factoring financing annually, which will provide rapid access to working capital for more than 2,000 companies across the two markets. Under the agreement, the Luxembourg-based fund will contribute 80% of the capital, and Instant Factoring will contribute 20%, strengthening the financial foundation needed to support unlimited access to financing as the portfolio grows. The factoring market in Romania is estimated to exceed the 10 billion euro threshold by 2025, while Spain has reached 266 billion euros.

The company has granted approximately 100,000 loans, supported 3,000 companies, and reached a cumulative volume of 350 million euros. Starting in June 2024, the company has received a Capacity Building grant from the European Investment Fund (EIF) worth 5 million lei, intended for infrastructure development and the expansion of its lending capacity.
